Twenty-One Essential Basics – Part One
The general concept of the card game is to be handed cards adding up to 21. Each competitor is handed 2 cards. When a player is dealt a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the gambler is dealt no Ace cards it is referred to as a hard hand. Once the cards have been handed to all players at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, every gambler is given the chance to make one of 6 decisions:
Requesting another card (Hit): When a black jack player says "hit me" the dealer will deal them another card, if the addition of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the player will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the total to twenty one the black jack player is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty-one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a black jack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stand. Once this has happened the croupier will display their cards and the black jack player who has gotten 21 or the nearest to twenty one will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player might ask to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have laid. Once you’ve taken this action you can only be given one more card. The details of doubling down are usually out lined by the blackjack table or casino game rules so before wagering be certain you are at ease with the house established rules. If you’re betting at an online betting house this is usually quite easy.
